The Gaisberg

In the summer, the Gaisberg is a great destination for road biking, mountain biking, slow biking, hiking, and paragliding. A highlight of the summer is the Gaisberg Race for vintage cars. In winter, ski touring and cross-country skiing are on the agenda: hiking trails and touring routes are groomed, and the cross-country trails are groomed almost daily.

Numerous restaurants and hotels invite you to stop by, enjoy yourself, or spend your vacation here: The Zistelalm, the Gersbergalm, the Kasnocknwirt (formerly Gasthof Mitteregg), the rustic Rauchenbühelhütte run by the Nature Friends, and at the summit, the Wirtschaft am Spitz and Kohlmayr’s Gaisbergspitz.

Take the Gaisberg bus line 151 directly from Mirabellplatz through the Gnigl neighborhood up to the Gaisberg. From up there, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the city of Salzburg, stretching all the way to the Salzburg Lake District, into neighboring Bavaria, and southward to the Göll Massif and the Tennen Mountains.
